The Warrant Prep Course is designed to assist law graduates in preparing for the examination required to obtain a warrant to practise as an advocate or legal procurator in Malta.
The course provides a structured review of selected areas of Maltese law and legal practice, with particular emphasis on civil procedure, criminal procedure, the organisation of the courts and tribunals, and professional ethics. It also offers practical guidance on approaching and sitting for the warrant examination.
The course is intended to complement candidates’ academic background and practical training by helping them consolidate their knowledge and focus their examination preparation. It is not a substitute for pupillage or independent study, both of which remain essential to candidates’ preparation for the warrant examination.
The Course is intended to be an interactive learning experience, in which discussion, questions and the exchange of practical experiences form an integral part of the lectures.
Candidates are therefore expected to participate actively, raise questions, contribute to discussions and engage with the lecturers.
